About Me.

Welcome!

I am a first-generation academic who grew up on a cattle and grain farm in Northern BC. I went to high school in a hockey area (quite literally!) and chose to pursue higher education out of a passion for reading, writing, and discovery. I am currently living in Hamilton Ontario with my Ragdoll x Birman co-author on all publications. When I'm not in the lab I'm likely spending time in coffee shops, lounging while listening to vinyl records, playing games of chess or, if the weather is nice, practicing the extreme sport of birdwatching. I also love reading and learning about the history of psychology, as revealed by the photos on this page.

Education

Before pursuing my M.Sc., I received my B.A. in Psychology and English Literature from the University of British Columbia in 2023. During my fourth year, I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to conduct a thesis project exploring the effect of pictorial mediums in modulating perceptions of mind in other individuals. This project was completed under the supervision of Distinguished Scholar Dr. Alan Kingstone at the Brain, Attention, and Reality Lab, where I consider myself to be a permanent member. Alan and I continue to collaborate on research to this day.

Employment

I have several years of experience working in many areas of research at multiple universities. My previous experience spans several domains, such as Climate Change, Family Medicine, Cognitive Behavioural Psychology, and of course, Neuroscience. I continue to maintain affiliations with the University of British Columbia, the University of Western Ontario, York University (UK), and McMaster University.
